How I Met My Harp - #harpril - Day 7 I had done some research on harp sizes, styles and prices and considered purchasing a Paraguayan harp while in Paraguay. My harp teacher in Sao Paulo, Brazil said that if I did, she would not be able to continue lessons with me because the Paraguayan harp is so different than a celtic or pedal harp. She recommended I purchase one from Lyon & Healy or Salvi since I'd be ordering from overseas. After visiting Lyon & Healy in Chicago, IL, doing more research, and moving to the States I decided on the Prelude. I ordered from Lyon & Healy partially because of their 5 year trade-in plan. I hadn't decided if I wanted to go for a pedal harp or not and figured the 5 years with the Prelude would give me time to do that. 12 years later I still have my Prelude! It was Friday afternoon, April 13, 2007 that my Lyon & Healy Prelude harp arrived. I opened the big box and said, "Hi, harp, nice to meet you!" And that's how I met my harp. This picture was taken after a concert I played
with the Chattanooga Harp Ensemble in November of 2009.
