I have been thinking about this one for several days now and I really can't come up with a favorite song to play! There is an arrangement of Greensleeves that I've played for several years now that I really like. Hymns are fun because I can sing along in my head as I play. I have found some classical songs enjoyable because there are no words and it's all about dynamics and feeling the song. Then there are popular songs that always get a reaction, like Disney and love songs.
I played for communion at my church this past Palm Sunday and uploaded a couple of videos on Youtube. I had been asked to play several months ago and did some research for music, asked in a harpists group, and even printed sheet music but just wasn't feeling right about what I had. In my head I kept arranging "When I Survey" and knew I needed to go with it. A few days and several hours of practice later I had two arrangements somewhat written out. After tweaking a little here and there and wanting to time it right with the communion being served I took my printed sheet music, scribbles and notes to church.
Here are the recordings of the arrangements: When I Survey with Near the Cross & There is a Redeemer with Christ the Lord is Risen Today and Low in the Grave He Lay
