Day 4 – Harp cliché My harp is a little different than the one King David played… but I like to think we’d get along just fine. I have even considered requesting a seat next to him in the harp section someday—though I am not sure my application has been approved yet. And yes, I have heard the angel comments. Many times. No, I do not come with wings—just a 44 lb harp and a lot of strings. Some people make lemonade out of lemons… others are like me and are always harping on something. I may not be “fit as a fiddle,” but I do carry, load, and transport my harp—often in a black dress, sometimes in heels, which feels like its own accomplishment. How many clichés did you spot? Honestly, they do not really bother me—this is just a little fun with them. But the one that has always made me pause was: “I should have known you were a harpist… you have long hair.” I am still not sure what to do with that one.
