Day 17 - One Day I Will Play This

There are quite a few pieces on my “one day” list.

Several of them are arrangements by Frank Voltz—I can get through them, but I haven’t quite gotten them to the point where I’d feel ready to perform them. And that’s really the goal.

One thing I’ve noticed over the years is the balance between playing for work and playing for fun. I often learn specific songs for clients, which I love—but it does mean I don’t always make time to learn pieces just because I want to.

Not a bad problem to have… but definitely something I’m working on.

Recently, I was asked to play Clair de Lune. It’s one of those pieces I’ve had sitting on my shelf for years but had never actually performed. While looking for it, I realized I have an entire book of classical music I’ve barely touched.

So now I have a growing “to learn” list… and I’m hoping to start working through it little by little.
